A brand new gallery featuring image from Southeast Asia’s Golden Triangle – Laos, Myanmar and Thailand – has just been added to the picski collection.
Southeast Asia’s Golden Triangle has historically been known for being one of the world’s main opium producing regions. The term “Golden Triangle” has also been co-opted by regional tour operators to specifically describe the area near the junction of the borders of Laos, Myanmar (Burma) and Thailand and the meeting point of the Ruak and Mekong Rivers. It is a green, hilly, primarily rural region where the essence of the opium trade still hangs in the air.

A new Thailand – Cities and Towns image gallery has just been added to the picski collection.
This gallery features images from Bangkok, Kanchanaburi and Chiang Rai. Bangkok, the capital of Thailand, is a city that never sleeps and one of Southeast Asia’s busiest travel and transit hubs. The provincial towns of Kanchanaburi, located in the Western part of the country, and Chiang Rai, in the Northern part of the country, are important regional centres in their own right.

A new Thailand – Ko Tao image gallery has just been added to the picski collection.
Ko Tao (literally Turtle Island) is a small island in Thailand located on the eastern shore of the Gulf of Thailand. Ko Tao is less developed than its larger neighbours, Ko Samui and Ko Pha Ngan, and is reachable only by boat. The island is a popular destination for scuba diving and snorkelling.

Turkey – Istanbul Image Gallery up on picski.net
A new Turkey – Istanbul image gallery has just been added to the picski collection. The gallery incorporates and expands on the previous Istanbul – Sultanahmet gallery.
Istanbul, formerly Constantinople, straddles the border of Asia and Europe. This gallery contains images from the districts and neighbourhoods of Eminönü, Galata, Taksim and Sultanahmet. Sultanahmet, the historic area of Istanbul, is a UNESCO World Heritage Site and home to the landmark Blue Mosque and Hagia Sophia.
